Hawaii – The Big Island
Hawaii Bike Tour Overview
The Hawaii ‘Big Island’ tour takes us to one of the most spectacular locations in the world to spend time both on and off the bike. This tour is a partnership between Ride and Seek and Big Island Tours, Hawaii’s premier tour provider, headed by cycling ex-pro Alex Candelario.
The Big Island of Hawaii is a diverse place to cycle. With 7 volcanoes, the Ironman course, coffee plantations and a spectacular coastline riddled with some of the best beaches in the world, it truly is a cyclists paradise.
Our tour will ride this variety of classic roads as we work towards the ascent of Mauna Loa at the end of the week. At 4169 metres it towers over the European classics which ring in our ears like Mont Ventoux and Tourmalet. Lets not also forget that the Mauna Loa climb has the option of starting with dipping our toes in the Pacific Ocean – elevation 0 metres, which makes this a truly epic KOM test.
