All of our tours include fantastic cycling, history and culture. However to make it easier to choose a tour we have separated our tours into 2 main categories – Epic and Local. The difference is in the day’s events. If you want to ride more, potentially on a historical trail, and stop less then go for Epic Adventures, if you want less cycling and more cultural and historical activities then Local Adventures are the ones for you.
Ride and Seek also run events and custom tours.
Check out the table below for the differences in the tour types:
Epic adventures
Hotels: Mostly 1 night stays at good to excellent hotels
Kms per day: Average of 90km+ (sag wagon always available)
Cultural Activities: Shorter guided tours, wine tastings, local food experiences, historical background and discussions with trained guides (who double as bike guides). Most activities take place in the afternoon after the day’s riding although the guides will discuss the history (eg Hanniballic route history as we ride and beforehand each morning or over an aperitif) and the food and wine each night.
Local Adventures
Hotels: Mostly 2-3 night stays at excellent hotels or a centre-based tour from a single villa or chateau.
Kms per day: Average of 30-60 km per day with options to do more or less.
Cultural Activities: Guided tours, wine tastings, local food experiences, cooking classes, historical background and discussions with trained guides. Activities can take place in the morning or afternoon and are longer in length. The guides will discuss the history and culture in the region each day and the food and wine each night.
